Crimson Hall cleared and a fight for healers!

News / Public news

After much gnashing of teeth, some mind controls, whining from raid leaders about the need to spread out and the odd disconnect Cause and Effect defeated Blood-Queen Lanathal.

Despite not being able to maintain optimum instance performance, kudos to Blizzard on this excellently tuned encounter.

Slightly less interesting, though nontheless noteworthy was our encounter with a jolly green dragon by the name of Valithria Dreamwalker who was having a nice relaxing snooze. Such was her gratitude when we banaged her to full health that she ported out! Pah... typical. Here is an overcluttered UI at the end of the fight instead of a nice picture of us gathered round a gurning dragon!

One to go before the Lich King himself!

Good news everyone! An update!

First of all, an apology. Our regular front page updater has taken a leave of absense and I'm a lazy so and so...

We have however been busy in Icecrown and have even been killing some bosses, the latest of which has been a loud-mouth scientist who ought to lay off the home brew... After some "persuasion" he decided to sleep off his inevitable hangover.

Grats looters!
[Protector's Mark of Sanctification] - Sennas
[Vanquisher's Mark of Sanctification] - Wezoi
[Astrylian's Sutured Cinch] - Tecumseh

The raid also took down the council of blood on the previous evening's raiding, and the raid was so happy about this that they bogged off before I could hit my print screen button. Here is a screenshot of me looking miffed in their room just after their corpses despawned instead!

Doubtless our ventrilo will be full of more profanities than this parrot* after a night on Noth's special brew before ICC is done, but I'm sure it'll be tons of fun!

*thank you Veldramin for the link

Twin Val'Kyr Shot Down!

News / Public news
Posted: Orticus @ 2009-11-10
So we were back at our favourite Twins once more and they were getting busy telling us we weren't 'worthy' or whatever. A change in the tactics and 6 tries later...

So that worked out pretty nicely. We passed on going to see Anub just yet, time to polish up on the new tactics and make sure we're prepared.

The end is in sight.....

Faction Champions Down

News / Public news
Posted: Orticus @ 2009-10-29
A good night for us, killed the beasts again (more on that later) and Jaraxxus, then it was on to the Champions. It took several tries and a few slight adjustments to the tactics but finally we clinched it. Rather than just the boring old box I took a screenie of the last champion to die....here they are being nuked till they glow...

and ok for those of you who need to see a box...

Earlier on there was an incident of note however. Our third try at taking the beasts and we got to Icehowl, the attempt was going well then something rather remarkable happened. Check this screenie...

If I can draw your attention to grid in the upper left of the shot...

Yep, the raid is almost wiped. Icehowl enraged on the final crash and almost - but not quite - wiped the raid, leaving just 3 people alive to kill him in the stun phase, which they did (of course!). One of those OMG moments...

First Kills in Trial of the Grand Crusader

News / Public news
Posted: Orticus @ 2009-10-27
Yep, finally after much frustration, false starts and the most unreliable Internet connections in the WORLD we finally got Northrend Beasts down 25 man hard mode...more wipes at 5% or less than I care to remember. However kudos to everyone for keeping it together and seeing it through to the kill

It'll be interesting(?) to see how tough it will be to repeat the kill. Anyway afterwards we gave Lord Jaraxxus a few tries, seemed like it was gonna be pretty easy, though we didn't finish the job that night...

Next night however was a different matter

Grats again to all those taking part, not quite the struggle to get the big red guy down. Then it was on to the Faction Champions, managed a few tries there but no kill. Will be looking hard at tactics in preperation for next lockout
